Professional Background

2006 - 2022

Chief Executive, SAMS (Standards and Monitoring Services)

Leading a diverse team with multiple national evaluation, education and leadership development projects. The majority of projects related to the development of disability leadership and evaluating supports and services. Most projects have been in New Zealand with some projects in Australia, North America and Hong Kong.

1989 -1999 (PT) 1999 - 2005 (FT)

Project Leader, SAMS

Co-developing evaluation and leadership frameworks, facilitating a range of evaluations, skill development forums and organisational development activities. Emphasis given to ensuring disabled people and families were equipped leaders in positive change.

1989 - 1999

Independent Contractor, New Zealand

A wide range of contracts that typically related to equity issues, collaborative ways of working and creatively using conflict. Facilitating community worker, social worker and youth worker training and working with local communities to build grassroots leadership.

Manager, Community Support Team, IHC

Management support and supervision for a team of seven social and community workers. 1984-1986 - development of aspirational planning processes and staff training.

1980 - 1983

Welfare Officer, Opposition Youth Crisis Centre, Sydney City Mission

Crisis intervention, counselling and group facilitation.

2013+

Founding member of the EGL National Leadership Group

This role also included membership of the Machinery of Government Working Group, EGL Governance Group, Establishment Unit Community Steering Group and multiple 'working groups'
